Pegasus Engine Support Tubes
Sep 24th, 2009 at 12:16pm

There is a minor design flaw in the Powrachute Pegasus that owners may want to pay attention so. If you look under the back seat you will see the "J"-tubes that support the rear seat above the fuel tank. If you notice these "J"-tubes go just outside of the engine support tubes.

If you look closely they get very close, in fact they touch on mine, and a few other Pegasus' that I have checked out. I wanted to see if that touching was causing a problem so I removed the "J"-tubes. Mine had rubbed the paint off and I even found a burnt mark on both sides.

I cleaned the metal and repainted those spots. I then assembled with a piece of sticky-back rubber between the two tubes, then added a heavy duty tie-wrap around both tubes. I have had no problems since then.

I think I will drill a hole in the future to lock those two tubes together on both sides.

BTW, I was having a radio static problem that went away right after that. Could that been the problem? I don't know.
