Rascal

A new guy in our flying club has a Rascal and I really like this little critter. Another other guy in our area has a Rascal but if I remember correctly it had a different style attachment. They may all be the same but I swear it was different. He is selling this unit with an enclosed trailer, boy I wish I had the cash to blow.

Thanks

I think he said 11,000. I thought that was high until I saw the enclosed trailer that comes with it. Seth
Another guy in central Texas has a purple Rascal for sale....

It's a solid looking machine, no doubt!

The Rascal is a solid machine and I like how it is built, but there has been some questions of whether it makes 103 weight or not. Any purchaser may want to consider that carefully. If you want a 103, you may want to check it to see if it is truly a 103 machines, unless, of course, you don't care about that. I know a few Rascals that are N-Numbered because of this reason.

There are many powrachute machines flying. It would be nice if those who own the machines would share in the discussion about them.
Competition is good for the industry as a whole.

I fly a Pegasus and I love it. I am willing to discuss any aspect of it.

I fly a Powrachute PC2000. They are not as long as a Pegasus but I like the feel of them because they are a middle ground between the nimble Rascal and the Limo Pegasus. Since I fly alone most of the time I like how they respond but I can still take someone up if I feel like it.
I have one with the outriggers and one with the high pegasus attachments. They each fly differently and I can't make up my mind which I like better.

I couldn't get into this forum to save my life. Now instead of Flynlow, I'll be Flynlow2, but I got in!!
I'm the guy with the purple Rascal for sale. The guy who bought the one that Seth was talking about called about buying mine, but I already had a trade deal in place... the deal fell through.
I really enjoy flying it though, so hanging onto it for awhile isn't too bad! I have a 503 DCDI with a PD Barnstormer 400 on it. I would prefer an elliptical wing, but the PD is very stable. The Rascals are very well built machines. As Bob pointed out, they're rarely 103 compliant. Mine has a 10-gallon tank and weighs too much. I was going to N-Number it, but the three people who have shown interest didn't want it registered, so I'm holding off.

Seth, when I was buying mine, there was another one for sale that was very comparable. The difference was the one I didn't buy had the extra piece just inside of the prop ring on the top, the same as the one you show here. I had never seen one with this piece and the owner didn't know why it was there or who put it there. As it turns out, it seems this was a very early production PPC. Later ones didn't have it.
The attach points were later widened and may be slightly different, that may be the difference you were seeing. If you notice on the one in your photos the cage is slanted upward. This is also a characteristic of the older style. The new owners of Powrachute made the cage look more like the Pegasus, made wider attach points, and raised it a little more off the ground.
